Holland House stands on the site which used to belong to the first secondary school in Cardiff. The 60 metre high building has 15 floors and is the seventh highest building in Cardiff. The building used to be offices for Lloyds TSB, It was refurbished in 2003/4 for hotel use. In 2006 the exterior of the building was used as a hospital for filming the Cardiff based sci-fi drama series Torchwood.

The Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel and Spa is centrally located in the City centre. The Hotel has 165 spacious and contemporary bedrooms. The Calon Suite is the city’s largest hotel meeting and banqueting space with a maximum of 700 theatre style of 550 banqueting. It is situated on the ground floor with a separate entrance, reception & bar and state of the art lighting & AV and is a flexible space. The hotel offers 15 meeting rooms, complimented by individual breakout areas and  dedicated event staff. In addition there is the stylish new Urban Bar and Kitchen and Leisure Spa.
